Psychology Postdoctoral Residency
Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) postdoctoral Residency began fall 2004. Residents rotate through several schools and centers within the University allowing for varied experiences and interests. Our philosophy is that sound clinical practice is based on scientific research and empirical support. Our training model is the Scientist-Practitioner Model of Training where research and scholarly activities guide and direct clinical practice, and clinical practice leads to research questions and activities.
The Nova Southeastern University’s Postdoctoral Residency Program is a member of the American Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC).
Residents may elect a rotating position or a non-rotating position. The rotating tracks allow the resident to divide his/her time at different locations with different specializations. The non-rotating tracks allow the resident with a specific focus to spend all of his/her time within that track.
Track 1
Rotating tracks include the following school/center rotations:
- College of Dental Medicine (CDM)
- Center for Psychological Studies (CPS)
Tracks 2 - 7
Non-rotating tracks include the following areas of focus:
- Autism
- Neuropsychology
- School Psychology
- Medical Psychology
- Crisis Prevention / Intervention & School Psychology Assessment
- Center for Assessment and Intervention (CAI)
Satisfactory completion of the Nova Southeastern Postdoctoral Program fulfills the licensure requirements for postdoctoral supervised practice in the state of Florida.
